“Don’t Breathe” Movie Reviews & Box Office Prediction: – From the twisted heads behind the making of Evil Dead comes to another Horror Thriller; Don’t Breathe. The film is set to be released on 26th of August 2016 which is directed by Fede Alvarez and written by Rodo Sayagues, director. The various stars that can be seen in this film are Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, Daniel Zovatto, and Stephen Lang. The film was initially premiered on 12th March 2016 at South by Southwest. In the trailer, every single second holds tremendous suspense in it and has got the decent amount of likes and views on Youtube. It has been shot on various locations like Stern Film Studio, Pomáz, and Hungary.
The three teens, Rocky (Jane Levy), her boyfriend Money (Daniel Zovatto) and buddy Alex (Dylan Minnette) from Detroit, living a low life as small-time burglars, attempts a loot in the house of a blind veteran with the intentions of taking that money and escape to California to start a new life. The teenagers observe that blind guy keenly and improve every aspect of their plan, but nothing goes as planned and their seemingly easy heist turns into a horrible nightmare. The story revolves around Rocky who is a determined teenager and wants to leave her dead-end life, ignorant mother, and her (mother’s) dirtbag boyfriend behind so that she could give a better life to her little sister. And for that, she needs to score big for one last time, just enough to leave it all behind and start fresh.
Money(Boyfriend) already has his eyes on an old man’s house who won a fortune of money in a settlement when his daughter was killed in a hit and run by a wealthy girl whose parents gave an enormous amount of money to Stephen Lang as compensation. Alex comes in as a sensible and timid third member in the team; his father owns a security company and has gadgets and passcodes that can get them past the alarm systems. Money brings a gun, which may or may not be the reason for the blind man to turn up his defenses against them.
When those three greedy fellows broke into the house blind man, they target a room which was locked to unlock the door ‘Money’ smartly shoots at hasp and within no time the owner of the house appears in front of them and ask who’s there. Rocky’s lover replies him and tries to manipulate him when the oldie walks towards Daniel Zovatto threatens him to stay right there by loading his gun. Then old man cleverly reaches near to Money, and scramble took place between them, before killing Rocky’s Boyfriend he asks how many of you are there, and Money replies, “only me!” then he got killed!
Here starts the main story of the film that an old retired blind military officer hunts other two people who broke into his house. With all the doors, windows shut and a very limited space to run in the small house. Alex and Rocky are trapped and struggling to find a way out and away from this dangerous man. The Blind Man is so dangerous, talented and smart that he hunts them with his extraordinary listening ability and can target anybody near him even with a little noise of breath. To make the situation more severe for the teenagers, Stephen Lang turn off the electricity of the house by saying “Now you gonna see what I see.” One thing is also noticeable in the movie which is that when Rocky and Alex get trapped in the house and try in to escape from the old blind serial killer’s hunt, at the time of hiding they found an another girl which was also trapped in there in some glass type box. That another girl could be that who killed the daughter of a blind man and to take revenge he kidnaps her too.
Box Office Predictions and Reviews
The first 30 minutes of the movie have nothing very exceptional to offer. But after that, this film can really keep you on the edge of your seats. The previous film of the director, i.e. Evil Dead earned $97.5 million. Estimating from that, this movie should definitely go for at least 95 million USD. The horror or suspense moments are not the type that will make you feel gross but rather make you more excited. Stephen Lang’s character does not have many dialogues, but his non-verbal performance makes his role more intense. But there will be the clash between on 26 August because other films too are releasing tomorrow like Mechanic: Resurrection. So, the conflicts between these two films may affect each other in the financial success. The audience is giving thumbs up to ‘Don’t Breathe.’
